Bobby Robertson joined the University of Miami faculty in 1973.  He focuses on anatomy and kinesiology, as well as adapted and special physical education.  A former high school teacher and retired commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve, Robertson earned his Ed.D. at the University of Oregon.

Robertson helped to develop a master’s degree program in sports injuries, as well as a series of lectures on sports injuries and human dissection at the University of Miami School of Medicine.  In 2001, he was instrumental in establishing an undergraduate major in sports medicine.

He is the author of an anatomy workbook designed for health, physical education and recreation majors, and has written professional articles on “Physical Education for Children with Cerebral Palsy,” and “Teaching Physical Education to the Child with Sugar Diabetes.”

Robertson is a member of the U.S. Tennis Association, Dade County Tennis Association and Dade County Adult Tournament Committee.  He has also been a member of the university’s Faculty Senate and currently on the School Council of the School of Education.
