WORLD'S FAIR (EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE)

Black Literature

The Exhibit of the American Negroes was not only remarkable in terms of the sociological and visual material it collected, but also the information it collected about Black authors. Under the direction of Daniel A. P. Murray at the Library of Congress, a bibliography of Black authors was created for the Exhibit. Including hundreds of books and pamphlets, approximately three hundred of these works were sent to Paris.
