	The Virtual Fifth Dimension Clearinghouse and Propagation Center FAQ \| NEWS \| A Child's Point of View \| A Theoretical Point of View \| Fifth Dimension CD WELCOME The Fifth Dimension Clearing house is a collaborative project of the Fifth Dimension distributed literacy consortium comprised of a collective of after-school programs located in Boys and Girls Clubs, YM & YWCAs, recreation centers, and public schools across America, Mexico, Australia, and Russia. The Clearinghouse principal investigators are William E. Blanton, University of Miami, and Erin C. Kirby, Appalachian State University. The Fifth Dimension is a mixed activity system of education and play designed to continue the projection of a second psychology (Cahan & White, 1992) and to instantiate cultural-historical activity theory (Cole, 1995). At the macro level, a cultural system mediates the social constitution of local Fifth Dimension sites through rules, artifacts, divisions of labor, and jointly constructed outcomes. Our Mission
