HIGHER EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION

Department :
Educational and Psychological Studies
Area :
Higher Education Administration

Higher education administration is a dynamic, growing field brimming with complex challenges and rich rewards. The challenges? Meeting the needs of today’s increasingly diverse college students, making good choices in a highly competitive environment and promoting effective collaboration across office lines to fulfill the institution’s mission. Rewards? Seeing people from all walks of life surmount obstacles and achieve goals, implementing programs and services that help them achieve those goals and sending forth versatile and caring leaders, thinkers and doers into the community and world.

The University of Miami’s Higher Education Administration Program aims to produce highly effective administrators and leaders who view the college and university environment holistically, understanding how their components can work together to effect overall student success.

The program leads to a master of science degree in education or to a certificate for those who already have earned a master’s degree. Both achievements can be earned in one of two innovative tracks: Enrollment Management or Student Life & Development.
