The Institute for Individual and Family Counseling (IIFC) is a part of the School of Education at the University of Miami.  The School of Education, through the Department of Educational and Psychological Studies, provides advanced, graduate training in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Counseling Psychology.  Through these masters and doctoral training programs, the IIFC has as its primary mission the training of mental health professionals, while providing affordable therapeutic services to the Greater Miami community. 

The IIFC works with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with a wide variety of concerns and life difficulties.

Currently the following services* are available at the IIFC in English and Spanish:

  • Individual Counseling
  • Couples Counseling
  • Marital Counseling
  • Family Counseling
  • Child and Adolescent Counseling
  • Career Counseling
  • Testing and Assessment

*All services at the IIFC are strictly confidential.

Fees and Appointments

Fees for all services are determined according to a sliding scale and an ability to pay.

To make an appointment or for more information, please call (305) 284-6949 Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm.

If one of our staff is not available to take your call, please leave a general voicemail message and someone will return your call at the earliest opportunity.
