The Athletic Training Program, Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences, of the University of Miami hosted an international workshop on athletic training from January 10th to January 19th. Sixteen students from Dong-A University in South Korea visited University of Miami during winter break. For more information on the Athletic Training program, click here.
The Korean Athletic Training Workshop was organized by Dr. Sae Yong Lee in conjunction with Jinhee Woo from Dong-A University in Korea. Since there is no athletic training education program in Korea, this workshop was designed to introduce athletic training profession to Korean students.
Objectives of this workshop were;
- To introduce athletic training profession,
- To introduce athletic training program and athletic training facilities,
- To introduce basic injury evaluation and rehabilitation techniques, and
- To provide a chance to observe athletic training in practice.
The Athletic Training Program was proud to host international workshop assisting with the development of athletic training education and profession in Korea. Our program is hoping to continue and expand this relationship with other universities in Korea, including Dong-A University. This will allow our program to gain a broader international perspective and become a global leader of Athletic Training community.
