The Speaker
Sheryl Alonso has been a lecturer at the University Of Miami School Of Business Administration in the Department of Management for the past 12 years. She has taught Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management and Team Building.
Ms. Alonso has an M.B.A. from the University of Miami and is currently completing her dissertation towards an Interdisciplinary PhD. in Medical Leadership. While pursuing her PhD. Ms. Alonso worked as a Research Assistant for the Programs in Health Sector Management and Policy. In this position she collaborated with research and program development to build a sound curriculum and global health administration policy. Her current research interests include social influence, team building and healthcare administration.
Prior to teaching at UM, Ms. Alonso was a hospital Vice President with the responsibility for the overall planning, organization, implementation, evaluation and control of all reporting departments including the strategic and short term planning.
Ms. Alonso has a strong civic sense and has served in a variety of community and healthcare associations.
