SOE faculty member, Dr. Andy Gillentine has received the 2009 Sport Management Achievement Award from the National Association for Sport and Physical Education.

The award will be presented at the 2009 AAHPERD National Convention and Exposition,April 2009 in Tampa, FL.

At the convention Dr. Gillentine will present on Why Sport Marketing Students Prefer Small Group Multi-Project Projects

Award Criteria:

• Current NASPE membership.
• Contributed to the field of sport management over a period of 10 or more years.
• Made a significant contribution to developing and maintaining sport management as a field of study and practice.
• Made contributions to the positive image of sport.
• Encouraged equity and diversity in the sport management profession.
• Furthered the development of the field of sport management through research, professional development, writing, and speaking.
• Made positive contributions to the profession, the sport industry, and community through involvement in professional organizations.
