Consulting for Organizational and Community Wellness

Isaac consults with human services, government and community organizations on how to promote psychological, organizational and community wellness. Using a “webs of wellness” approach he emphasizes the need to work at the personal, relational, and collective levels of well-being at the same time.

Isaac claims that a “transformational approach” needs to complement an “ameliorative approach” to wellness. His value-based approach complements the need for prevention and empowerment in:

·       Organizational and Community Interventions

·       Small Group and Individual Interventions

·       Social Interventions

In contrast to models that advocate either/or forms of helping (prevention or treatment, therapy or community-building, emotional support or social change), Isaac believes that human services need to embrace a more inclusive mode of helping, one that promotes personal, relational, and collective wellness at the same time.

Isaac has worked and consulted with many organizations in Israel, Canada, Australia, and the United States. For a comprehensive understanding of his approach, you may read some of his publications.

The New SPECS Project is a three year action research initiative designed to transform health and human services. This project exemplifies Isaac’s approach to consultation. For an overview of the project, you may read the Annual Report 2005.
